Background & Overview
Welcome to Roanoke Texas, home of the newest regional skate park in the Dallas – Fort Worth (DFW) area. The City of Roanoke is a progressive City of 6,500 residents that takes seriously the recreational opportunities offered to its youth and action sports enthusiasts. The Roanoke, Texas Skate Park is the latest addition to Cannon Parkway Park. The park already offers tennis courts, a walking trail, playground, open recreation field and a splash pad. The new skate park project also includes additional parking, a restroom building, and skatepark irrigation and landscaping. And best of all, for the users, the skatepark has a full skatepark lighting system for night time use!
Skatepark Design
The Roanoke Skate Park is roughly 20,000 square feet of skateboarding heaven. It’s been designed for all ages and skill level. Although the primary use of this park is for skateboards, it also accommodates bikes (no pegs), inline skates and scooters. Be sure to check with the City on their skate park rules and regulations. The pool is nine feet deep (with a foot of vert) and six feet deep in the shallow end. It’s capped off entirely with skate park pool coping and black and white, diner-colored pool tile. A long, 5 foot tall mini ramp complex includes several one foot extensions. The long and open plaza section can accommodate a lot of concurrent users. Subsequently, it includes all of the features one can ask for. Multiple stair sets, planter gaps, radius ledges, manual pads, and rails make up a very unique plaza.
Unique Dining Capitol of Texas
The Roanoke Skate Park includes many artistic, skate features that are themed after the City’s motto of being “The Unique Dining Capital of Texas”. There’s a down rail in the shape of a dinner knife. Two separated dinner plates are spaced perfectly apart for banked gap tricks. A dish at the front of the skate park closest to Cannon Parkway acts as a return wall or a place to do flip tricks. And finally, perched in between the pool and mini ramp at the top section of the park is an extremely unique, cantilevered, skate-able spoon. Standing at approximately 7 feet tall, you can ride smoothly off the flat slab and onto the profile of a 20 foot spoon. In addition to being great skate features to ride, our friends at New Line Skateparks have made sure these artistic features truly reflect of the City’s efforts of supporting local restaurants.
Roanoke’s skate park has already become a top skate park in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex. For more information on a skate park in your City, please Contact Us.
