Oklahoma City Skate Park
SPA Skateparks completed the addition at Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park on July 17, 2020. It is now open to the public and free to use.
Description
The Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park Improvements project in 2020 added 5,000 sf of plaza style terrain to the Oklahoma City Skate Park. The overall 27-acre park at 1700 S Robinson was renamed Manuel Perez Park by the City of Oklahoma City Council in October 2016. The park is named after Manuel Perez who was born and grew up in Oklahoma City before going into the U.S. Army in WWII. He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for heroism in one battle for the Philippines.
Skate Terrain
The Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park improvements consist of the addition of approximately 5,000 square feet of plaza style terrain. This area was previously a grass landscape area centrally located within the existing skatepark. This new terrain not only adds some great features but also allows skatepark users to create more lines within the entire park. Working alongside an Oklahoma-City based general contractor, SPA Skateparks performed turn-key skatepark construction including all specialty concrete work and metal fabrication. Below is a short list of skate features added as part of the Manuel Perez Park Improvements project:
- curved, 3 level ledge complex
- bank to rail
- hand rail
- Jersey barrier
- pier 7 inspired feature
- Quarter pipe transition to existing skatepark
Hours & Rules
Per the Oklahoma City’s Parks and Recreation Department website, the skatepark is open from dawn – 11:00 p.m. daily. Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park may close for inclement weather or after rain or snow.
