DESCRIPTION
The City of Georgetown, Texas loves their public parks and it shows. San Gabriel Park hosts the Two Step Inn Festival by C3 – bringing thousands of Country and America fans together in one place each year. The skatepark development was incorporated as part of the San Gabriel Phase 3 improvements project. SPA Skateparks was selected as the skate park contractor whose scope included the hard surface terrain. The skate park design was developed by our friends at New Line Skateparks. And RVI Planning served as the prime architect. A local, prime General Contractor was procured to coordinate all construction efforts, including the skatepark’s building pad.
Conveniently located next to the new restroom building and surrounded by mature shade trees, the skatepark’s setting couldn’t be better. Don’t forget the LED lights under the skate ledges. The CNC metal plates with star cut-outs provide an incredible touch to the experience.
Skating the Georgetown Texas Skatepark? Here’s a tip. Take the time for a cool swim at Blue Hole in the San Gabriel just a short drive away. Here’s the map to Blue Hole Park.
Georgetown Texas Skate Park Terrain
Skateboarders, scooters, bikes, inline skaters and even roller skaters will be descending upon the new Georgetown, Texas skatepark for years to come. At roughly 12,500 square feet the terrain generally consists of a 2-level plaza. As a result, the elevation difference creates a lot of features and trick opportunities. The upper section has quite a bit of space for warming up on flat ground. For example, a quarter pipe hip starting point leads to a choice of a 4-stair with double rail, hubba or a quarter pipe pocket extension.
The lower section has arguably everything a plaza should have….and more. Along with the needed and expected banks and ledges, the lower section has a few stand-out features such as the manny pad on top of a pump bump. A ledge complex comes with gaps and varying heights for endless tricks. Take a look at the design renderings and photos of the skatepark on this page.
Hours and Rules
Stay tuned for confirmed skatepark hours and rules once the facility opens to the public. For now, the City’s website states that San Gabriel Park is open from 5am to 10pm every day.
