DESCRIPTION
Tyler’s Faulkner Skate Park is now the newest addition to the city’s parks and recreation facilities. Congratulations to the community supporters, the East Texas Skatepark Association and City staff for their unwavering effort. The Faulkner Skatepark will eventually replace the Noble E. Young Skatepark which has been in a state of deterioration for some time. Faulkner Park will also serves as a more desirable and accessible location for skaters, attracting visitors from across east Texas. Existing amenities at Faulkner Park include a tennis complex, splash pad, playground, restrooms, fishing pond, trails and baseball fields just to name a few.
TERRAIN
The Faulkner Skate Park in Tyler, Texas was designed alongside the local youth over the course of several public consultation meetings. Priority was placed on a more plaza-influenced skatepark with transitional features. The general layout includes two main elevations. A two foot difference allows for banks, a Euro / London gap, hubba ledge, down rail and a 4-stair set. At each corner of the triangular shape is either a quarter pipe or bank to keep runs flowing. Check out the Faulkner Skate Park photos on this page.
HOURS & RULES
As of this writing, skatepark hours and rules could not be found on the City of Tyler’s website. We suggest calling the Parks and Recreation Department for any questions.
