DESCRIPTION
The new Lakewood Skate Park in Leander is a short drive north of Austin, Texas, and the second public skatepark within the City of Leander. See “Nearby Skateparks” below. The skatepark is just one amenity of many included as part of the overall Lakewood Park development. Amenities within this 125 acre park include a 10 acre recreation lawn for open play, off-leash dog park, a fishing pier, a boardwalk, miles of walking trails, covered lakeside pavilions with built-in barbecue pits, picnic spaces, basketball courts, sand volleyball, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and more
SKATEPARK TERRAIN
The Lakewood Skatepark is a lower level, technical, plaza / street style park. The long, skate-path shape of the skatepark meanders between mature juniper and oak trees and connects on either end to pedestrian pathways. Being surrounded by thick trees and vegetation creates a peaceful, natural feel. At several hundred feet in length, it’s a great spot to create long skate lines and combo tricks. Features include a flat rail, down ledge, 4 stair set, banked manual pad complex, volcano, bank-to-manny pad and quarter pipe section.
