Cedar Park Skatepark – Brushy Creek
SPA Skateparks, with design partner New Line Skateparks, designed the Cedar Park Texas Brushy Creek Skatepark in 2009. Community input drove the overall design over three public meetings. The skatepark has three 3 main areas of skate terrain. Firstly, a street course with plaza style elements are arranged in an intersecting circular design. Integral colored red and brown cantilevered quarter pipes, stair sets and uniquely arranged black ledges and manual pads easily identify the Brushy Creek Skatepark from any other skatepark in the world. Secondly, the replica Skatepark of Austin bowl with pool coping has varying depths of 6 to 9 feet. And finally, a smaller pool bowl includes steel coping with a rounded pocket complete with skatepark pool coping. Amenities include shade structures with seating, native landscaping, a full scale skate park lighting system and designated parking.
The grand opening of the skatepark in June 2010 included a City Council ribbon cutting ceremony, a skate demonstration by local skate shops, and offered music and refreshments to all in attendance. The Cedar Park Brushy Creek Skatepark now serves as a flagship design build skatepark facility to Austin and surrounding areas for its successful approach to skatepark design, development, and construction! The Cedar Park Skatepark is visited by professional skateboard teams and has been a place for hosting contests and continues to be a destination for weekenders traveling from other parts of the State.
