City of Odessa Skatepark

SPA Skateparks is proud to be the design build skatepark contractor for the Odessa Skatepark in West Texas. A public input design process gave resulted in a site integrated poured in place concrete skatepark. This was also our opportunity to answer many questions the community had regarding modern day skateparks. SPA Skateparks partnered with our friends at New Line Skateparks in designing the Ruben Pier Memorial Skatepark in Odessa, Texas.

Terrain – Ruben Pier Odessa Skatepark

SPA Skateparks began construction of Odessa’s new state of the art park in July 2009. Located in Sherwood Park, the skate park boasts an oil pump jack themed design, complimenting the prevalent West Texas oil industry. The plaza influenced street course includes unique art features and suspended props. A large bowl of 5′, 6′, and 7′ depths along with bike peg proof metal detailing completes this one-of-a-kind concrete skatepark. Because of West Texas’ flat landscape and lack of storm water drainage systems, SPA Skateparks developed and installed an expansive drainage field that effectively directs and disperses skate park water run-off to the surrounding park.

The Ruben Pier Memorial Skateparks provides a safe, state-of-the-art skatepark for local skateboarders, bikers and inline skaters. It has since become a welcomed destination for families traveling in West Texas.
