1/26/2023 – Update on Fort Worth’s public skateparks. – Looking for a skatepark in Fort Worth after you visit Chisholm Trail? The City of Fort Worth Texas Dickies Skate Park is scheduled to open in the late spring of 2023. As of this update, Fort Worth will soon have two concrete, public, free to use skateparks. SPA Skateparks is so appreciative to have built both.
The City of Fort Worth‘s first public skatepark is located just East of Chisholm Trail Parkway (Tollway) on McPherson Blvd and is part of the brand new Chisholm Trail Park. Ample parking for the skatepark is available within Chisholm Trail Park or at the Chisholm Trail Recreation Center.
The City of Fort Worth’s design build public skatepark project began with a series of public input meetings where local skaters provided terrain types, skate features and theme ideas. SPA Skateparks, along with our friends at New Line Skateparks, developed a skate park consisting of a 6 ft, 7 ft, 9 ft pool with pool coping, and several areas of plaza terrain. Additionally, the main plaza line is perfect for multiple trick runs and is meant to represent the history of the Chisholm Trail. Texas ranchers would move their cattle from South Texas to the Oklahoma border. And then onwards to the cattle markets of the East Coast.
Supporting Amenities
A 24 ft x 24 ft pavilion provides plenty of shade for when you need to cool down. Additionally, a few benches and trash receptacles are places within the skate park as part of the amenities package. A xeriscape landscape area with natural grasses, yuccas and native river rock is at the center of the skatepark.
